ARE YOU GETTING ENOUGH SLEEP?
The CDC recommends that teenagers (age 13-18) need 6-10 hours of sleep every 24 hours. Adults age 18-60 need 7 or more hours per 24 hours.
REALITY: 68% of all teenagers get less than 8 hours of sleep each night and 72% of all high school seniors get less than 8 hours of sleep per night.
What happens when you don't have enough sleep?
- You have decreased visual reaction time
- You have decreased auditory reaction time
- You have decreased bone density over time.
- You have decreased recovery time when you get injured. (Studies show that you are 1.7x more likely to get injured if you do not get adequate sleep of at least 6 hours per night.)
